Turkish Defense Minister Says Plans To Meet Russia's Shoigu At Istanbul Summit On Syria

Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar told Anadolu news agency on Wednesday he was planning to meet Russian defense chief Sergei Shoigu on the sidelines of the upcoming Russia-Turkey-France-Germany summit on Syria in Istanbul this Saturday.

ANKARA (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 24th October, 2018) Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar told Anadolu news agency on Wednesday he was planning to meet Russian defense chief Sergei Shoigu on the sidelines of the upcoming Russia-Turkey-France-Germany summit on Syria in Istanbul this Saturday.

"We want to ensure the conditions for people in Idlib to be able to live calmly and peacefully. We will discuss this and other issues with Sergei Shoigu on Saturday, and I expect the settlement in Syria to go faster after this meeting," Akar said.
