MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 18th October, 2018) At least three members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), listed as a terrorist organization by Ankara, were killed or injured in Iraq's north on Thursday as a result of an air operation carried out by the Turkish forces, local media reported.
According to the Anadolu news agency, citing the Turkish military, the militants were preparing attacks on the Turkish bases in Iraq's Metina region.
Tensions between Ankara and the Kurds escalated in July 2015 when a ceasefire between Turkey and the PKK collapsed over a series of terror attacks allegedly committed by the PKK members.
The Turkish forces are involved in anti-PKK raids across the country and in northern Iraq.
