Turkish President Arrives In Azerbaijan With Official Visit

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Azerbaijan on Saturday morning with an official visit, a Sputnik correspondent reported

BAKU (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 15th September, 2018) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Azerbaijan on Saturday morning with an official visit, a Sputnik correspondent reported.

A guard of honor welcomed the distinguished guest at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport, located in the vicinity of the Azerbaijani capital of Baku, and the flags of the two countries were flying.

Yaqub Eyyubov, Azerbaijan's first deputy prime minister, Ramiz Hasanov, Azerbaijan's deputy foreign minister, along with other Azerbaijan's diplomatic officials, came to the airport to welcome Erdogan.

The purpose of Erdogan's one-day visit is to attend the events celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Caucasian Islamic Army, uniting Azerbaijani and Turkish soldiers and fighting on behalf of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, capturing Baku from a coalition of Bolsheviks, Armenian Dashnaks and Mensheviks.
