WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 24th April, 2019) The leading senators on the Senate Foreign Relations subcommittee on the middle East will be visiting Israel and Jordan in the near future, Senator Chris Murphy said in a press release.
"US Senators Chris Murphy and Mitt Romney, Ranking Member and Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Near East, South Asia, Central Asia, and Counterterrorism, will travel to the Middle East, including Israel and Jordan, in the coming days," the release said on Tuesday.
The two senators plan to meet with government officials in both countries in order to boost ties between the United States and its allies in the region.
"The US faces complex challenges around the world, particularly in the Middle East. It is critical that we maintain and strengthen our alliances with key partners in the region," the senators said in the release.
White House Adviser Jared Kushner said earlier on Tuesday that the United States will release its Middle East peace plan after the end of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.
