Typhoon Mangkhut Leaves 2 People Dead In Southern China - Reports

BEIJING (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 16th September, 2018) Super typhoon Mangkhut that hit the southern Chinese province of Guangdong on Sunday has left two people killed and 15 others injured, local media reported.
The super typhoon struck the city of Jiangmen at around 5 p.m. local time (09:00 GMT).
According to China Central Television, as of 8 p.m. local time, the typhoon has left two people killed in Guangdong, while 15 people have suffered injuries in the neighboring Macao special administrative region, where a total of 1,215 people have been evacuated to special shelters.
The natural disaster has affected the transport services across the southern Chinese coast. As of 3 p.m. local time, 85 flights from the Nanning airport, located in the southern Chinese Guangxi autonomous region, have been canceled. Railway traffic toward Shenzhen and Guangzhou, both located in Guangdong, has been suspended.
According to meteorological forecasters' estimates, the typhoon will reach the southwestern Chinese province of Yunnan on Monday or Tuesday, bringing heavy downpours of rain there.
