UK Demands Russian Guarantees Over World Cup Fan Safety: Boris Johnson

British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson said Wednesday he was seeking guarantees from Russia that England fans visiting the football World Cup in June and July would be safe amid a diplomatic row over a spy attack.

"My challenge to the Russian authorities is to show that the 24,000 UK applicants for tickets to the football World Cup are going to be well-treated, are going to be safe," he told MPs.
