The UK Labour party will ask for an emergency parliamentary debate on Brexit on Wednesday, the Labour Whips' Office in the House of Commons said
According to the House of Commons, three urgent questions are on the agenda for Wednesday, including one about preparations for a no-deal Brexit.
"Mr Speaker will also hear an application from [Shadow Secretary of State for Brexit] @Keir_Starmer after the three UQs asking for an emergency SO24 debate: That this House has considered the matter of the length and purpose of the extension of the Article 50 process requested by the Government," the Whips' Office said on Twitter.
Speaker for the UK House of Commons John Bercow has granted Starmer's request for an emergency debate, according to the Commons' Twitter feed.
The debate, led by Starmer, is currently underway.
The UK parliament rejected the government's withdrawal deal earlier in March and then voted against a no-deal outcome. UK Prime Minister Theresa May is now expected to ask the European Union for a short extension to the Brexit deadline of March 29.
