UK Work, Pensions Minister Resigns Over Disagreement With Brexit Deal

UK Secretary of State for Work and Pensions of the United Kingdom Esther McVey said Thursday she was resigning over her disagreement with the EU divorce deal backed by the Cabinet.

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 15th November, 2018) UK Secretary of State for Work and Pensions of the United Kingdom Esther McVey said Thursday she was resigning over her disagreement with the EU divorce deal backed by the Cabinet.

"I cannot defend this and I cannot vote for this deal .

.. I therefore have no alternative but to resign from the government," McVey said.

McVey became the second senior member of the government to quit, following Brexit Secretary Dominic Raab.
