Ukraine, Israel Agree To Develop Defense, Security Cooperation - Defense Ministry

Ukraine and Israel agreed to develop cooperation in the field of security and defense, including the exchange with technologies and experience in the use of new weapons, the press service of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday
Earlier in the day, Ukraine's Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak, as part of his official visit to Israel, visited one of the Israeli leading defense enterprises Elbit Systems that is engaged in development and modernization of different weapons systems. During the meeting, Poltorak expressed interest in deepening defense cooperation between the two countries.
"Following the meeting, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the state-owned concern Ukroboronprom and Elbit Systems Ltd.
The document defines further development of joint projects in the following areas: communication systems, surveillance and reconnaissance systems for land and air forces, air-rescue equipment, radar stations, equipment for port protection, modernization of armored vehicles," the ministry said.
According to the ministry, the memorandum prescribes that the implementation of further projects will take place with the use of mechanisms of the exchange of technologies and practical experience in the use of new weapons." The document will allow to improve the combat capability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the future, the press service added.
