Ukraine's New Gas System Operator Should Be Party To Transit Deal With Russia - Naftogaz

The new contract on the gas transit with Russia should be signed by the new gas transportation system operator that is currently being created in Ukraine, Naftogaz CEO Andriy Kobolyev said Friday
KIEV (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 18th January, 2019) The new contract on the gas transit with Russia should be signed by the new gas transportation system operator that is currently being created in Ukraine, Naftogaz CEO Andriy Kobolyev said Friday.

should become one of the sides of the new contract on gas transit," Kobolyev said at a briefing
Kobolyev said he expected the new gas transportation system operator to start working in January 2020.
The statement comes ahead of the trilateral talks between Russia, Ukraine and the European Commission on gas transit, planned for January 21.
The current contract regulating the transit of the Russian gas through Ukraine expires at the end of 2019.
