Ukraine's Police Believe Foreign Intelligence May Be Behind Attack On Zelenskyy's Aide

KIEV (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 22nd September, 2021) Investigators are considering three key lines of inquiry into the assassination attempt on Ukrainian First Presidential Assistant Serhiy Shefir, including engagement of foreign intelligence and a bid to provoke destabilization, National Police chief Ihor Klymenko said on Wednesday.

"The national police are exploring three key lines of inquiry: it could be connected to the victim's state activities and aimed at putting pressure on the top leadership, or it could be aimed at destabilizing the political situation in our country. We are also considering possible engagement of foreign special services," Klymenko said at a briefing.
