United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is deeply concerned about the latest firing of a rocket from Gaza into Israel and regards the incident as a serious violation, UN Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said in a press briefing on Monday

UNITED NATIONS (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 25th March, 2019) United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is deeply concerned about the latest firing of a rocket from Gaza into Israel and regards the incident as a serious violation, UN Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said in a press briefing on Monday.

"The Secretary-General is gravely concerned by the latest developments regarding Gaza; today's firing of a rocket from Gaza towards Israel is a serious and unacceptable violation," Dujarric said. "We are also aware of the latest reports of firing on Gaza. ... We urge all sides to exercise maximum restraint."

Earlier in the day, Israeli military and police reported that a rocket fired from the Gaza enclave had hit a home in the village of Mishmeret, north of Tel Aviv, wounding seven people.

Afterward, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he would cut his visit to the United States short and return to Israel to take charge of a response to the attack.
