UN Listing Crimea in Report on Human Rights in Ukraine Unlawful - Moscow

The Russian Foreign Ministry criticized Friday a new UN report on the human rights situation in Ukraine for including Crimea.

The report was released by the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) on Thursday.

The report was released by the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) on Thursday.

"We are once again forced to highlight that the mandate of the UN Monitoring Mission on human rights in Ukraine does not allow for assessing the situation in third countries. The Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol are the territory of Russia, and any attempt to include an assessment of the human rights situation in those Russian region in the report on Ukraine is unlawful," the ministry said.
