Russia and United Nations have a major role to play together in facilitating the political process in Syria, the UN special envoy for the Middle Eastern country, Geir Pedersen, said at a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Monday

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 21st January, 2019) Russia and United Nations have a major role to play together in facilitating the political process in Syria, the UN special envoy for the middle Eastern country, Geir Pedersen, said at a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Monday.

"Obviously, you [Lavrov] have very good relationship with the UN. We look very much forward to continue and deepen this relationship. And I believe that the UN and Russia together have a key role to play in moving forward the political process [in Syria]", Pedersen said.
