UN Says Welcomes Russia-Turkey Idlib Deal, Says Ready To Provide Humanitarian Assistance

The United Nations on Tuesday said that it welcomed the Russia-Turkey agreement on the Syrian Idlib.
MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 18th September, 2018) The United Nations on Tuesday said that it welcomed the Russia-Turkey agreement on the Syrian Idlib.
At a meeting in Russia's Sochi on Monday, Russian and Turkish presidents, Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, agreed to create by October 15 a demilitarized zone along the line of contact between the armed opposition and Syrian government forces in Idlib.
The Russian and Turkish defense ministers signed a memorandum on Idlib settlement.
"The Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Syria, Mr. Ali Al-Za'tari welcomes the opportunity that the Russian-Turkish agreement on Idlib, 'will allow access of humanitarian assistance and saves lives of civilians'. 'The United Nations in Syria is ready to provide humanitarian assistance needed in Idlib and all surrounding areas,' said Al-Za'tari," the UN said in a statement.
