UPDATE - Launch of 2 Express Communications Satellites From Baikonur Postponed Until Dec - Sources

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 23rd September, 2021) The launch of the Express-AMU3 and Express-AMU7 telecommunications satellites by the Proton-M launch vehicle from the Baikonur space center has been postponed from November to December 2021, two sources in the rocket and space industry told Sputnik.

In June, Yury Prokhorov, acting director general of the Russian Satellite Communications company, said that the launch was planned for November 8.

"The launch of Express-AMU3 and Express-AMU7 has been postponed until the first ten days of December," a source said.

Another source confirmed the report, adding that December 6 is considered as the launch date.

The satellites are to be placed in geostationary orbit (circular orbit with an altitude of 36,000 kilometers) at positions 103 and 145 degrees East longitude, respectively. They are designed to provide high-quality communication and tv and radio broadcasting services to consumers in Russia and other countries.
