The US Air Force has awarded a $175 million contract to collect and analyze signals intelligence, Raytheon announced on Thursday
WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 06th May, 2021) The US Air Force has awarded a $175 million contract to collect and analyze signals intelligence, Raytheon announced on Thursday.
"Raytheon Intelligence & Space (RI&S), a Raytheon Technologies business will provide signals intelligence field services for the US Air Force's Distributed Common Ground System, which collects, processes and analyzes intelligence," the company said in a news release.
Under the deal, RI&S will support seven different intelligence applications the Air Force uses to collect and correlate data under the new program, DCGS-Signals Intelligence Field Support, the release said.
"The five-year contract, valued up to $175 million, will combine information from airborne, ground and other systems. ... Under the contract, RI&S will leverage its mission domain knowledge to provide high mission availability in support of end-to-end operations," the release added.
Under the contract, Raytheon will create a mission plan for an airborne sensor to receive data, process it and then either produce a report, store it or enhance it by fusing it with other data, according to the release.
