MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 07th May, 2021) The US-led coalition has intensified airborne shipments of military cargo and movement of military equipment by land in eastern Syria, Rear Adm. Alexander Karpov, the deputy head of the Russian Defense Ministry's Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria, said.
"Increased intensity of air transport of military cargo and land movements of military convoys of the US-led coalition's in the eastern regions of the Syrian Arab Republic causes concern," the official said, adding that such military buildup "against the backdrop of the emergency socio-economic situation caused by the suffocating US sanctions is seriously damaging the prospects for a political settlement."
