WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 25th April, 2019) The sentencing hearing in the case of Russian national Maria Butina will not be delayed since her defense lawyers did not request additional for a rebuttal of new evidence, a court document revealed on Thursday.

"The defense did not request additional time to prepare a rebuttal to Mr.

Anderson's Declaration, despite the court's willingness to adjourn sentencing in order for it to do so. Therefore, the Sentencing Hearing will not be adjourned," the document said.

Butina's defense lawyers request to exclude Anderson's evidence from the case has been denied, the court added.

The sentencing hearing is scheduled for Friday, April 26.
