The Ukrainian Armed Forces have received two counter-battery radars for Hummer military vehicles from the United States, George Tuka, the Ukrainian deputy minister for temporarily occupied territories, said on Friday.
KIEV (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 17th August, 2018) The Ukrainian Armed Forces have received two counter-battery radars for Hummer military vehicles from the United States, George Tuka, the Ukrainian deputy minister for temporarily occupied territories, said on Friday.
"The United States delivered two more counter-battery Hummer-based systems," Tuka said on Facebook.
Counter-battery radars are a type of target acquisition radars used to detect enemy positions based on fire trajectory.
The systems are part of military aid which the United States provides to Ukraine. Back in February, US Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch said that the United States had provided over $850 million in security assistance to Kiev since 2014.
According to Valentin Levchik, the acting head of Ukraine's General Staff Military Cooperation Directorate, Ukraine has received over $40 million worth of military equipment from Canada, Lithuania, the United States and the United Kingdom.
Russia has repeatedly warned the United States against supplying weapons to the crisis-torn country and said that the US military assistance to Ukraine perpetuates the Donbas conflict.
