US Delta Heavy Rocket With Spy Satellite Lifts Off In California

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 20th January, 2019) A United Launch Alliance Delta 4 heavy rocket blasted off Saturday from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California with a military reconnaissance satellite on board, the company said.
The launch provider announced the liftoff shortly after 2 p.m. EST (19:00GMT).
It jettisoned solid rocket boosters minutes later. The coverage was wrapped up at the request of the customer.
The classified NROL-71 mission for the National Reconnaissance Office was set for takeoff in early December but the launch was pushed back several times over technical glitches and bad weather. The NRO is responsible for the nation's fleet of reconnaissance and intelligence-gathering satellites.
