US Diplomat Traveling To Astana For First US-Kazakhstan Strategic Dialogue - State Dept.

US Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Alice Wells will lead the US delegation to the first official meeting of the US-Kazakhstan Enhanced Strategic Partnership Dialogue December 8-12, the State Department said in a press release on Friday.
"Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs, Ambassador Alice Wells will travel to Astana, Kazakhstan December 8-12 for the US-Kazakhstan Enhanced Strategic Partnership Dialogue," the release said. The release said discussions will include counterterrorism cooperation, regional security, economic and trade agreements, human rights, and other issues of mutual interest.
The delegation led by Wells will also include representatives from the National Security Council, USAID, and the State Department's Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor, the release added.
