US Diplomat Urged New Iraqi President To Quickly Form Inclusive Government - State Dept.

WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 16th October, 2018) US Deputy Secretary of State John Sullivan stressed to newly-elected Iraqi President Barhim Salih the importance of quickly forming a government that meets the needs of all Iraqis, State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert said in a press release.
"The Deputy Secretary congratulated newly elected President Salih on his election and emphasized the importance of quickly forming a government in a manner that is responsive to the needs of all Iraqis," Nauert said on Monday.
Sullivan also reaffirmed the US commitment to the growth of bilateral economic ties and expanding investment in Iraq, Nauert said.
Salih, who served as prime minister of Iraqi Kurdistan in 2009-2012, was elected president by the country's parliament earlier in October.
