WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 23rd January, 2020) The United States and France have addressed a set of pressing issues during their third Cyber Dialogue in Paris, including 5G security concerns, the US State Department said in a release.
"At the bilateral meeting, the United States and France discussed efforts to advance stability in cyberspace; diplomatic progress in multilateral and regional security venues; 5G security concerns; domestic cybersecurity issues; and cyber capacity building," the release said on Wednesday.
The State Department pointed out that both countries reaffirmed their support for a framework of responsible state behavior in cyberspace, based on the applicability of existing international law, adherence to non-binding peacetime norms of state behavior and implementation of practical confidence building measures.
Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Cyber and International Communications and Information Policy Robert Strayer led the US delegation in Paris. The delegation was joined by representatives from the Departments of Commerce, Defense, Homeland Security, Justice and State.
France's interagency delegation was led by Ambassador for Digital Affairs Henri Verdier and was joined by representatives from the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, National Cybersecurity Agency, Ministry of the Interior, Ministry of the Armed Forces and the Ministry of Justice.
The next Cyber Dialogue will be held in Washington, according to the State Department.
