US Government Assesses Russia In Compliance With New START But Violates INF - Pentagon

The US government has assessed that Russia remains in full compliance with the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START) but it violates the Intermediate Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF), Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Policy David Trachtenberg told a Senate hearing on Tuesday.

WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 18th September, 2018) The US government has assessed that Russia remains in full compliance with the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START) but it violates the Intermediate Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF), Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Policy David Trachtenberg told a Senate hearing on Tuesday.

"The United States assesses that Russia is in compliance with the New Start Treaty," Trachtenberg said. "On INF, the Russian Federation remains in defiance of its obligations."
