US Hosts Arab Countries In Washington To Discuss Regional Security, Stability - State Dept

The United States hosted several Arab countries in Washington to discuss regional stability and security in the Middle East, the State Department said in a press release
WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 22nd February, 2019) The United States hosted several Arab countries in Washington to discuss regional stability and security in the middle East, the State Department said in a press release.
"Senior officials from Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, and the Gulf Cooperation Council came together to discuss the alliance, a whole-of-government initiative to advance regional stability, security, and prosperity through enhanced multilateral cooperation in the political, economic, energy, and security spheres," the release said on Thursday.
The consultations addressed the political and security pillars of the Middle East Strategic Alliance, the release noted.
The consultations included formative exchanges on the strategic objectives of the alliance with a focus on political security-related topics, the release said.
The United States looks forward to advancing talks in order to leverage synergy and to more effectively address challenges to shared interests in the region, according to the release.
