WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 24th January, 2019) US Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi in a letter to President Donald Trump on Wednesday said she would not allow the chamber to host his State of the Union Address to Congress until the government shutdown has ended.
"I am writing to inform you that the House of Representatives will not consider a concurrent resolution authorizing the President's State of the Union Address in the House Chamber until the government has opened," Pelosi said in the letter.
Earlier on Wednesday, Trump said in a letter to Pelosi that he intends to go ahead with his State of the Union address in Congress on January 29 as planned, despite her security concerns amid the partial Federal government shutdown.
