The United States and Hungary have agreed to sign a defense cooperation deal, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said on Monday during a joint press conference with Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto
WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 12th February, 2019) The United States and Hungary have agreed to sign a defense cooperation deal, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said on Monday during a joint press conference with Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto.
"Peter and I are happy to announce the conclusion of the defense cooperation agreement," Pompeo said in Budapest.
The US State Department said in a press release later on Monday that Pompeo also met with Hungarian Defense Minister Tibor Benko to discuss boosting bilateral defense cooperation.
The release noted that Hungary will be purchasing "stronger defense capabilities" from the United States.
