The United States and Kuwait intend to expand bilateral trade and undertake activities to consolidate their relationship, Kuwaiti Foreign Affairs Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah said during the US-Kuwait Strategic Dialogue meeting on Wednesday
"We are looking forward to increased trade between both countries and we know how important it is to create and generate more activities to further consolidate this relationship," Al-Sabah said.
The Kuwaiti Foreign Affairs Minister pointed out that the United States and Kuwait will sign 18 agreements and memorandums of understanding (MOU) in different areas of cooperation.
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said he was confident such cooperation will help Kuwait meet its development goals.
"We' are excited to agree to an MOU that will promote innovation, entrepreneurship and small business development in Kuwait," Pompeo said.
Pompeo also said US businesses will increasingly cooperate with Kuwait and announced that the US Chamber of Commerce will hold its first-ever US-Kuwait Business Council in Washington, DC in the near future.
