US-Led Coalition's Airstrike Destroys Hospital In Syrian City Of Hajin - Reports

DAMASCUS (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 08th December, 2018) The airstrike by the US-led coalition, fighting against the Islamic State terror group (IS, banned in Russia), has fully destroyed a hospital in Syria's eastern city of Hajin, local media reported, citing local sources.

The airstrike took place on Friday, according to Al-Ikhbariya television channel.

The US-led coalition regularly carries out airstrikes in eastern Deir ez-Zor province, and has recently been concentrating its air power on Hajin.

Media reported on Thursday that US-backed SDF forces had advanced into Hajin and now control about half of the city, which is one of the last remaining strongholds of the IS terror group.

The US-led coalition of more than 70 countries is conducting military operations against the IS in Syria and Iraq. The coalition's operations in Iraq are conducted in cooperation with the Iraqi government, but those in Syria are not authorized by the government of President Bashar Assad or the UN Security Council.
