Trump sent a Twitter message on Thursday saying the United States should recognize Israel's sovereignty of the Golan Region, sent as militarily vital to either driving on Syria or to the rapid occupation of northern Israel.

Trump may sign the document next week when his friend and ally Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visits Washington, DC to attend the annual American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) Policy Conference, the official told Reuters.

Netanyahu is campaigning for reelection next month while fighting corruption charges at home.
