The US decision to leave the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty has been taken after the document became "too narrow" for Washington and restricted its military ambitions, Russia's Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna Mikhail Ulyanov told Sputnik on Monday.
MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 17th December, 2018) The US decision to leave the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty has been taken after the document became "too narrow" for Washington and restricted its military ambitions, Russia's Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna Mikhail Ulyanov told Sputnik on Monday.
"Why did the Americans take this step? Obviously, the document became too narrow for Washington and restricts its military ambitions," the envoy said.
The official added that the US withdrawal from the treaty would also hinder talks on the New START agreement.
