US Raised Importance of New START Treaty During Talks in Geneva - Under Secretary

WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 16th January, 2019) The United States raised the importance of the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (New START) with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov in Geneva, US Under Secretary for Arms Control Andrea Thompson told reporters on Wednesday.

"But I did raise with the [Russian] Deputy of Foreign Minister [Ryabkov] the importance of that," Thompson said when asked if they discussed the New START treaty at their meeting on January 15.
