WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 12th December, 2018) Senator Bernie Sanders in a statement announced that the US Senate would vote on Wednesday on his resolution to end the unconstitutional support for the Saudi-led war in Yemen.
"Tomorrow, I will move to proceed to S.J. Res. 54, the resolution I have offered with Senators Lee and Murphy to end U.S. involvement in the disastrous Saudi-led war in Yemen," Sanders said on Tuesday.
Sanders urged his colleagues to end the unauthorized US support for the war in Yemen which has led to the worst humanitarian disaster in the world, with millions of people facing imminent starvation.
Yemen has been gripped by a civil war with the government headed by Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi fighting the Houthi movement. The government is backed by the Saudi-led coalition, which has been carrying out airstrikes targeted at the areas controlled by the Houthis since March 2015.
