WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 19th March, 2019) US Special Representative for North Korea Stephen Biegun is traveling to London on Tuesday to meet with allies to discuss denuclearization efforts on the Korean peninsula, the Department of State said in a press release.
"US Special Representative for North Korea Stephen Biegun will travel to London March 19 to meet with UK, French, and German counterparts to discuss coordinated efforts to advance the final, fully verified denuclearization of North Korea," the release said on Monday.
The second summit between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Hanoi in February concluded without the two leaders reaching an agreement.
Trump walked away from the talks after Kim demanded the full lifting of sanctions against North Korea without pledging to denuclearize the sites the United States wanted.
At their first summit in Singapore last June, Trump and Kim agreed to denuclearize the Korean peninsula in exchange for freezing US-South Korea military exercises.
