US State Secretary Hosts Transatlantic Dinner On UNGA Sidelines - Spokeswoman

US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo has hosted Transatlantic dinner attended by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy Federica Mogherini and other senior officials, the State Department Spokeswoman Heather Nauert said.
MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 26th September, 2018) US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo has hosted Transatlantic dinner attended by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy Federica Mogherini and other senior officials, the State Department Spokeswoman Heather Nauert said.
"Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo hosted NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission Federica Mogherini, and 40 foreign ministers and senior officials from Europe and Canada at the 18th Transatlantic Dinner on September 25 on the margins of the United Nations General Assembly," Nauert said Tuesday.
According to Nauert, the US state secretary emphasized the importance of US-European relations that are necessary for "shared security and the prosperity of more than one billion people between our two continents."
Pompeo pointed to the importance of achieving peace and stability in Syria and Iraq, countering "Russian aggression in all its forms," and ensuring the denuclearization of Iran.
