US Told Russia No Syria Rebuilding Aid Without UN-Validated Political Process - State Dept

The United States has made it clear to Moscow that the international assistance for Syria aimed at reconstructing the country will not be provided until the United Nations verifies that an irreversible political process is underway, US Acting Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs David Satterfield told reporters on Friday.

"We have been very clear, as clear as it is possible to be with the government of Russia, that there will be no international reconstruction assistance for Syria without the irreversible political process validated by the UN," Satterfield said.
