US, UK, Canada Diplomats Come To Moscow Court Seeking Access To Whelan's Hearing -Attorney

Diplomats from the US, UK and Canadian mission in Moscow have come Tuesday to the Moscow City Court hoping to be admitted to the hearing on the detention of espionage suspect Paul Whelan, Vladimir Zherebenkov, the attorney of the suspect, told Sputnik, adding that it will be up to the court to allow diplomats' presence
MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 22nd January, 2019) Diplomats from the US, UK and Canadian mission in Moscow have come Tuesday to the Moscow City Court hoping to be admitted to the hearing on the detention of espionage suspect Paul Whelan, Vladimir Zherebenkov, the attorney of the suspect, told Sputnik, adding that it will be up to the court to allow diplomats' presence.
The court will hear an appeal on Whelan being kept in custody later in the day. The hearing is expected to be closed to media and audience over classified nature of some of case files.
"The participation of diplomats is not envisioned by court proceedings. They may come to the court and say what the want," the attorney said, adding that representatives of US, UK and Canadian missions had come to the Moscow City Court.
