US Vice President Mike Pence on Saturday called Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro a dictator adding that he must leave his post
MUNICH (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 16th February, 2019) US Vice President Mike Pence on Saturday called Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro a dictator adding that he must leave his post.
"The struggle in Venezuela is between dictatorship and democracy. Nicolas Maduro is a dictator ... and Nicolas Maduro must go," Pence said.
On January 23, Juan Guaido, the head of the opposition-led Venezuelan parliament, declared himself interim president and disputed Maduro's reelection, which took place last year. Russia, China, Mexico, Turkey, Uruguay, and several other states said that they supported Maduro as the country's only legitimate president, while the United States and its allies recognized Guaido.
