Venezuela Suspends Collection Of Signatures For Referendum Against President

CARACAS, , (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Oct, 2016 ) : Venezuela's electoral council on Thursday suspended a round of signature-collecting for a referendum on forcing President Nicolas Maduro from power.
The body acted after governors in several states said local courts had annulled the results of a first such round, carried out in June, because of alleged fraud in the counting of signatures.
The new round was to have been held next week. The electoral council said it was acting in compliance with the court orders.
