MEXICO CITY (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 26th September, 2018) Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro offered US President Donald Trump to meet in person to settle their differences.
"I am open to a meeting with President Trump ... I think we will find a common language. One day, God willing, we'll have a face-to-face meeting," Maduro said in a televised speech.
This comes after the US Treasury imposed a new round of personal sanctions on Venezuela's senior officials, including Maduro's wife Cilia Flores, president of the national assembly.
In his speech, Maduro challenged the Trump administration to give a permanent lawful status to all Latin American and Caribbean immigrants on US soil. He used the tv appearance to sign a decree giving citizenship to over 8,300 foreigners, most of them Colombians.
