The visit of a delegation of Russian lawmakers to the United States and their meeting with members of US Congress, which was supposed to take place in early 2019, is impossible in conditions when Washington prepares to impose new anti-Russia restrictions, a source in the upper house of the Russian parliament, the Federation Council, told Sputnik

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 15th March, 2019) The visit of a delegation of Russian lawmakers to the United States and their meeting with members of US Congress, which was supposed to take place in early 2019, is impossible in conditions when Washington prepares to impose new anti-Russia restrictions, a source in the upper house of the Russian parliament, the Federation Council, told Sputnik.

"There will be no visit, 100 percent.

In current conditions, when a bill envisaging new anti-Russia sanctions, including against Russia's sovereign debt, has been worked out and introduced to [US] Congress, such a trip is impossible," the source said.

Another source in the chamber told Sputnik earlier that a delegation of the Federation Council could visit the United States and meet with the members of US Congress in the beginning of 2019. A working visit of Russian lawmakers to the United States was originally scheduled for mid-November 2018.
