Vyshinsky Arrest Conditions Would Be Considered Torture in Civilized Countries - Lawyer

The conditions of RIA Novosti Ukraine portal head Kirill Vyshinsky's arrest in a pretrial detention center in Ukraine's Kherson would be considered torture in civilized countries, Vyshinsky's lawyer Andriy Domansky said Wednesday.

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 26th September, 2018) The conditions of RIA Novosti Ukraine portal head Kirill Vyshinsky's arrest in a pretrial detention center in Ukraine's Kherson would be considered torture in civilized countries, Vyshinsky's lawyer Andriy Domansky said Wednesday.

"Interesting practice in the Kherson pretrial detention center: in the cells and rooms for investigative actions, glasses have been removed from the windows, there are frames but no glasses. So it's cold there.

I froze during the time I spent at the meeting with my client, Kirill Vyshinsky... In civilized countries such conditions are considered 'torture' as everything is like in solitary confinement," Domansky said.

He said the medical assistance Vyshinsky needs has not been provided to him yet despite demands on the part of his defense.

Domansky said it is possible that Vyshinsky was not brought to the court today to attend the hearing of an appeal against his arrest due to his cold.
