Andriy Domansky, the attorney of RIA Novosti Ukraine web portal chief Kirill Vyshinsky, said Thursday that the Ukrainian security services were conducting searches in his home and office
MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 17th January, 2019) Andriy Domansky, the attorney of RIA Novosti Ukraine web portal chief Kirill Vyshinsky, said Thursday that the Ukrainian security services were conducting searches in his home and office.
"My house in the Kiev region, my office and, as I understand it, my assistant's home are being searched now... [The security services] were waiting for me to be here, in Kherson, when I am not at home.
They are conducting search in my home to destabilize me morally just on the day when a measure of restraint for Kirill is being chosen," the attorney said.
Domansky added that the searches, conducted under an order by the prosecution, were a response of the Ukrainian authorities to his activity on defending journalistic rights, including in international organizations.
"They want to discredit me again. I treat it as an attempt to influence my activity on defending Vyshinsky," the attorney said.
