The Women 20 (W20) group plans to present a set of proposals to the G20 (Group of Twenty) at the ongoing Eurasian Women's forum in the Russian city of St. Petersburg, Susana Balbo, the chair of the group representing Argentina, which currently holds the W20 presidency, told Sputnik on Thursday.

ST. PETERSBURG (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 20th September, 2018) The Women 20 (W20) group plans to present a set of proposals to the G20 (Group of Twenty) at the ongoing Eurasian Women's forum in the Russian city of St. Petersburg, Susana Balbo, the chair of the group representing Argentina, which currently holds the W20 presidency, told Sputnik on Thursday.

Argentina is set to host the 2018 G20 Buenos Aires summit from November 30 to December 1.

"We are going to have a concrete set of proposals at the forum to G20. This forum is a great place for women to be heard by the governments," Balbo said on the sidelines of the Eurasian Women's Forum, which opened earlier in the day in the Russian city of St. Petersburg.

She underlined that there was a huge disparity between the G20 countries when it came to including women in the labor market, digital economy, and agriculture, and also providing them with full access to financial services.

"I see here the same goal to deliver a message to G20 leaders that women should be empowered and have same rights and freedoms as men," she noted.

The W20 was established in May 2015 as a means of interaction between the G20 and social partners. Its mission is to support economic development in the G20 nations, with consideration given to increasing the role played by women in resolutions adopted in line with the group's framework for strong, sustainable, and balanced growth.
