WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 22nd January, 2019) White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders has been instructed not to hold press briefings because US media outlets do not cover her accurately, President Donald Trump said in a Twitter message on Tuesday.

"The reason Sarah Sanders does not go to the 'podium' much anymore is that the press covers her so rudely & inaccurately, in particular certain members of the press. I told her not to bother, the word gets out anyway! Most will never cover us fairly & hence, the term, Fake News!" Trump said.

Earlier in the day, White House spokesperson Hogan Gidley told FOX news that Sanders will hold a briefing when she "finds a reason" to do so.

The White House has been criticized recently because it has held only three press briefings since October.
