White Supremacist Pleads Guilty To Murdering Black New Yorker - District Attorney

NEW YORK (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 24th January, 2019) White supremacist James Jackson, a veteran who served in Afghanistan, pleaded guilty to stabbing a black man to death in New York City, Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance said in a statement on Wednesday.
"This resolution won't bring back Timothy Caughman, a beloved New Yorker who was executed for being black on Midtown street corner," Vance said. "It is, however, the loudest message that a civil society can send to would-be terrorists."
In 2017, Jackson, who previously told authorities that black people should be "exterminated," plunged a Roman-style sword into Caughman who then staggered one block to a New York city police department building in Manhattan's midtown before collapsing in the precinct lobby and succumbing to the fatal stab wounds.
Jackson pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in furtherance of an act of terrorism, second-degree murder as a crime of terrorism, second-degree murder as a hate crime and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, according to the authorities.
Jackson's guilty plea marks the first ever conviction of a white supremacist on terrorism charges in New York history, according to the District Attorney.
