Woman Injured In Knife Attack By Russian National In Oslo Regains Consciousness - Reports

STOCKHOLM (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 20th January, 2019) A young woman wounded in a knife attack perpetrated by Russian citizen in a store in Oslo has regained consciousness, local media reported on Sunday.

A 20-year-old Russian citizen, who came to Norway from Russia through Sweden, was detained in Oslo after stabbing a woman in a shop on Thursday. A woman was critically injured and hospitalized. Norwegian police reportedly said they detained a Russian national as a suspect and were considering terror motives regarding the attack.

According to the Norwegian NRK broadcaster, the family of the 25-year-old injured woman reported on improvements in her condition.

On Friday, the press attache of the Russian diplomatic mission in Norway, Timur Cherkanov, told Sputnik that the Russian Embassy in Norway knows who the Russian citizen detained over the knife attack was, and was looking into the situation. He noted that the Russian diplomatic mission was in touch with Norwegian law enforcers.
