MINSK (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 20th October, 2018) World leaders and diplomats will come to the Belarusian capital Minsk in late October and early November to attend a global security conference, Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei said Saturday.
This year's three-day Munich Security Conference's (MSC) Core Group Meeting will begin on October 30. Organizers suggested Minsk as its venue to honor the Eastern European nation's contribution to regional peace processes, including in Ukraine.
"Presidents, prime ministers, foreign ministers, intelligence and analytic bureau chiefs will attend," Makei said in a statement, as quoted by the state news agency, Belta.
Around 70 leaders are expected to travel to Minsk for talks on pressing security challenges for Eastern Europe and the Euro-Atlantic region, according to the MSC website. Among those who confirmed their attendance are presidents of Belarus and Armenia, as well as prime ministers of Bulgaria, Moldova, and foreign ministers of Macedonia, Mongolia, Poland, and Slovakia.
