LAHORE,(APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Augst,2016) : The World Wildlife Fund-Pakistan has started a campaign to create awareness about important issue of illegal wildlife trade. According to a spokesman for the WWF-Pakistan, notes are being sent through social media networks to spread message widely which would ultimately be helpful to decrease number of illegal wildlife trade incidents. He said:" Pakistan is rich in biodiversity and is home to some of the rarest plants and animal species of the world.
" "It is difficult to calculate an exact value of illegal wildlife trade but according to estimates, about one-third of bird species are traded illegally across the globe while species that are traded from Pakistan include freshwater and marine turtles, tortoises, falcons, the Indian pangolin, venomous snakes and non-venomous snakes, reptiles." He said collective efforts should be made for protection of our natural gifts as our civic duty through our Save Our Species digital campaign.
